M&M cookies


These cookies are for James.  He saw them in the store, but I prefer to make them.  That way I know what is in them.  I used the recipe on the back of the bag, but here it is.

1 cup butter, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar

1 large egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/8 tsp salt

1 12 ounce bag mini m&ms

Preheat oven to 35o°F.  In a large bowl, cream sugars and butter until light and fluffy; beat in egg and vanilla.  In medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; blend into creamed mixture.  Stir in m&ms.  Drop by heaping tablespoons about 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet.  Bake 10-13 minutes.

James loved the cookie dough.  Let’s hope he eats the cookies
